Sharjah is the smallest of the 7 emirates of UAE. The authorities in Sharjah follow the Muslim law and is enforced much effectively than in other emirates. Men should wear full pants and no sleeveless T-Shirts. Ladies should wear proper covered cloths. Parking is a problem although most of the malls have covered parking facility. Alcohol consumption is banned in this Emirate. Sharjah is 25 minutes drive away from Dubai.
Arabia's Wildlife Centre
Located in one complex as The Natural History Museum, this is a version of a zoo with local habitants of Gulf area. The animal species mainly consist of snakes and lizards, several kinds of mice and birds, predators as cheetah, foxes and leopard, as well as unique animal as blind and transparent fish.
Blue Souk
Also known as the Central Market is a conglomeration of roughly 600 retail shops, a blend between traditional souk and modern shopping mall. The building housing the souk is a cluster of six structures with elegant lighting, plenty of blue tiles and fake wind towers create a magnificent landscape reminiscent of an old train station.
Sharjah's Natural History and Botanical Museum
Has a lot of display to describe the hourney of the earth since the very beginning (such as big bang, volcano erruption, earthquake, ice age, fossil, rock/geological structure), to the early ages flora and fauna and how it evolved to nowadays animals and plants. In the same complex, there is also Botanical Museum, which has a display about natural occurence. For example, they have display of several stake with sticky material and a vest which you have to wear with the sticky material, so when you pass in between stakes, you'll be stuck to them. This is the concept of how bees pollinate the flowers.
Al Ain (or Al-Ayn)
Meaning the eye or the spring. The name was originated from the natural oasis located in this town. This 4th largest city in UAE is also known as Garden City, because the effort to plant and keep the city green. There are several attractions, as the museum, palace, zoo, oasis (with the old irigation system) and the high peak of Jebel Hafeet mountain, with the stunning view and nice road.
Al Ain National Museum
Hosting the ancient and more recent UAE historical collection. In the entrance, they have a separate, traditional tent: one is selling the souvenirs and the other as a Majlis, to welcome the guest with the arabic coffee, dates and traditional pancakes.Museum was build in the same complex as the Al Ain Fort, ancient fort built, to protect the Oasis area.The museum has 2 main sections Ethnography and Archaelogy.
Ras Al Khaimah
Well known for rock climbing and hiking. The rock formations are unique and diverse. The climbing is located within the Hajar Mountain Range. For the most part the mountain range is made up of limestone. The quality of limestone is also quite unique and diverse. You will find some hard dense rock but expect to find lots of loose flakes, choss. It is an advance and serious hike not suitable for beginners or even intermediate hikers. Mainly it is a Sheppard road linking a village in Oman with Wadi Litibah in RAK.
Wadi Siji
A recommended sight for picnic during rainfall season. Its a valley on the way from the small city of Al Dhaid(formally an Oasis) to Fujairah. Roads are paved so its easy to go there. Siji is famous for its space on the sides and the dams. A recently built major dam is constructed to include a parking space and walk passage on its wall.
